Ajasin varsity DVC lauds group, tasks students on leadership
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Professor Francis Oyebade, has commended the school’s chapter of the Ambassadors of Africa for its contributions to the society and the world at large.
Receiving members of the student association in his office, Prof. Oyebade, said, “you are fast keying into the school’s vision of building a 21st century university. I am particularly fascinated by the execution of your project. It is a great way of improving town-gown relationship.”
The organisation had in March 2016 partnered Frikanah Theatre Company to visit four secondary schools in Ikare Akoko, Supare Akoko and Idoani to counsel the students on living right and also gave career talk.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor noted that one of the ways students could build their leadership skills is by belonging to voluntary organisations and advocacy groups.
Prof. Oyebade promised that the University’s Advancement Office would work closely with the group, giving them the necessary encouragement.
In a related development, Professor Francis Oyebade, urged students of the school to collaborate with the school authority to build a desired institution.
Oyebade, who is also the Director of the University Advancement Office, gave the advice at a meeting with representatives of all students’ unions and associations in the institution
He told the students’ leaders that the university is keen on putting in place student-centric policies that would spur them and the alumni of the school to give their best to the university.
