Ajao primary school in need…

Ajao Estate Primary School in Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) is falling apart. The roofs are damaged, letting in rain and making learning a painful experience.

“We have written series of letters to the Ministry of Education to no avail. Even the member who is representing us at the Lagos State House of Assembly is aware of the deplorable condition of the school. We are appealing to the state government to come to the aid of Ajao community by posting teachers to our school and renovating it, to enable the students learn in a comfortable environment,” Mr. Kunle David, a concerned resident of the community, said.

His plea was re-echoed by the chairman, Community Development Association, Ajao Estate, Elder Francis Makinde, who noted: “Ajao Estate is in Lagos State, so the dividends of democracy must not pass us by. What has been sustaining this school is the self-help effort of the community and non-governmental organisations that have been renovating it over the years.

The Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Shamsudeen Abiodun Olaleye, however, urged people of the community to remain calm and patient with the government, assuring that their needs would be met.
