The lifestyle of prayer is the channel through which the Grace of God flows to our lives. One thing about prayer is that God is not only speaking to us, but is also listening to us. You have God’s ear when you pray.

The secret of favour is God’s abiding presence and for you to carry His presence, you must be a person of prayer. Joseph grew in favour because God was with him (Genesis 39:2).

Grace is the love of God shown to the unloved; the peace of God given to the restless; the unmerited favour of God. A shorthand for what grace is – “mercy, not merit.”

The Throne room of God is a place filled with all dimensions of Grace, and you can only access it through prayer. You can always find grace to help in time of need, if you are a perpetual visitor to the throne of grace.

Prayer is one of the consistent habits to have consistent flow of grace. Prayer and Grace work hand in hand. You can’t pray without having grace and you can’t have grace without prayer. In other words, the spirit of grace is the spirit of prayer. Zechariah 12:10a says, “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications …”

You are lacking grace because you no longer go to the throne of grace. The last time you pray was the last time you had grace. To consistently flow in grace, you should develop a habit of prayer and constantly coming to the throne of grace. Anybody lacking help is in lacking in grace. The constant flow of Grace in your life makes you to find help in time of need.

The spirit of grace is the spirit of prayer. In Acts 4, when the apostles prayed, great grace was upon all of them. “Great Grace” is a product of “Great Prayer”. If your family altar is not burning, grace has left you. Your growth in grace is a product of your prayer life.

You store grace in advance through prayer. You don’t ask for grace when a need/problem arises, but you store grace before the time of need. Your habit of private prayer is cultivating grace for the time of need.

You are helpless because of your prayerlessness. You are stranded in life because there is no grace stored in your storehouse. You have spoken to men enough; it is time to come boldly before the throne of grace that you may find grace to help you in time of need.

There is a time of prayer and prayer should be eventful. Peter and John had a habit of praying at the ninth hour (Acts 3:1). Jesus had a habit of prayer and went to the solitary place to pray (Mark 1:35).

Prayer can be spontaneous to arrest spontaneous issues that come up. Jesus was told that Simon’s mother was sick, Jesus came and ministered unto her spontaneous prayer and she was healed (Mark 1:31).

It is time to take a survey of your prayer life. Prayer should be a lifestyle. Sometimes, you sit for 3 hours waiting for man, but when last did you wait for God for 3 hours? Now, Let us come boldly unto the throne of Grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Today’s Nugget: The spirit of Grace is the spirit of prayer

Prayer: Lord I come boldly to throne of grace that I may find grace to help in time of need.
