Real Madrid have apparently come calling for Zinedine Zidane to come back and fix the mess they find themselves in but the Frenchman doesn’t fancy a return at this point, reports sportbible.com.

A mere five days ago after securing a third successive Champions League title, Zidane stepped down as manager and spoke of how he wanted a break from football.

His replacement, Julen Lopetegui, had a nightmare start and was sacked in October after winning just six games out of 14 But things haven’t got any better under Santiago Solari, who stepped up from the Castilla side.

In the last week, Real have been knocked out of the Copa Del Rey by Barcelona, effectively done and dusted in the La Liga title race following another defeat to the Blaugrana – and they were eliminated from the Champions League following a 4-1 hammering inflicted by Ajax at the Blaugrana.

Former club president Ramon Calderon says Los Blancos contacted Zidane to take the reins for a second time but said the former Galactico doesn’t want to end his break from football management just yet.

“I know that this morning the president [Florentino Perez] called Zidane to ask him back, he said not now,” Calderon told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“He has left open the possibility of coming back in June.”

Zizou’s departure back in June came as a huge shock to the footballing world given he’d just led his side to an unprecedented achievement but he felt it was the right time to call it quits.

“It would have been difficult for me to win again next year,” he said at the time (via ESPN). “There have been good moments, but also difficult times.

“I do not forget that. And at this club, you must know this: I do not want to start a season and have a bad time.”
