Zambia moves to Europe in search of technical adviser

Determined to match their opponents in all the departments of the game, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has started the search for a foreign technical adviser for their national team, the Chipolopolo.

According to the Times of Zambia, FAZ president, Andrew Kamanga, believes a new expatriate coach would help the 2012 African champions to beat Nigeria, Algeria and Cameroun to the lone ticket available in Group B of the World Cup qualifying series.

Kamanga wants the new coach in place before the kick-off of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in October.

The report revealed that Kamanga has been tasked with then task of getting the coach while he is in Europe watching the European Championships in France.

Kamanga said the World Cup qualification was every Zambian’s dream and the association was determined to deliver it and the new coach would be in place before the Chipolopolo face Nigeria in October.

“We are still resolving the coach issue. We will advise immediately a decision is made by the executive,” Kamanga said.

The report revealed that Kamanga would be joined by Zambia’s Minister of Sports, Vincent Mwale, in Europe in the search for the coach.

“We want to move fast because we want to have an expatriate coach before the qualifiers start. This is a coach who will work with Lwandamina and other assistants. We asked the president if he could find at least four candidates who we can interview,” the report quotes a source in FAZ.
