We need luck to win U-17 AFCON in Tanzania, Garba claims
Coach of Nigeria’s Under-17 team, Manu Garba, has said that the nation will need elements of luck to win the 2019 U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals holding in Tanzania.
The experienced tactician has forever been part of the Nigeria U-17 set up since the early 2000s.
He was also an assistant to the late coach Yemi Tella when the Golden Eaglets did the double by winning their second title in Togo en route to global acclaim in South Korea in 2007.
“Every tournament is hard to win,” Garba who guided Nigeria yet to World Cup glory in 2013 told the CAF website.
“No matter how good a team is, sometimes, you need elements of luck to win the trophy.”
Nigeria are set to participate at this year’s U17 AFCON finals, which will be hosted between April 14 and 28.
They are in group A alongside the hosts Tanzania, Angola and Uganda.
