Victory against Japan good motivation for dream team, says Erico
Former Super Eagles’ goalkeeper trainer, Joe Erico, has praised the Dream Team for their victory against Japan in their group opening game of the on-going Rio Olympics.Erico who showered encomiums on the coach Samson Siasia tutored side, for picking the vital three points at stake despite the odds against the team, stated that the win would spur the boys in their next two group matches against Sweden and Colombia.
He urged the players to continue with the winning spirit, saying that the performance in the game against Japan was a sign of good things to come.Erico enjoined Nigerians to keep supporting the U-23 team, adding that encouraging them would go a long way in building confidence on the team.
The U-23 team had a good match against Japan. I think the players put behind the challenges they faced while preparing for the Olympics to beat Japan. Winning the first match is very important for the team because it will put the players in the right frame of mind to contend with other group opponents. My advice for the boys is to continue to give their best and forget all the predicament they passed through before coming to Brazil ,” he said
