Africa’s most decorated player, Segun Toriola, believes a Nigeria can win the 2016 Premier Lotto Nigeria Open.

Nigeria’s most successful table tennis players, Segun Toriola and Olufunke Oshonaike, are among international stars that have arrived Lagos for the ITTF Premier Lotto Nigeria Open, which serves off tomorrow at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium.

Toriola and Oshonaike had their first training session yesterday in readiness for the kick off of the competition.

Following the arrival of the ITTF-appointed competition manager, Egypt’s Mohamed Dawlatly, as well as referee and his assistant, all is now set for the draws of the highest prize money tournament in the ITTF Challenge series.

Toriola, who will become the first African to feature in seven Olympic Games when he attends the Rio 2016 Games, will be spearheading the campaign for Nigeria alongside 2014 ITTF Star Player, Aruna Quadri, who is expected to arrive on Thursday from France.

Oshonaike, who will also be using the tournament to tune up for her sixth Olympics appearance, was joined in yesterday’s training session by Edem Offiong.

Also yesterday, players from Egypt, Ghana and Portugal arrived Lagos for the $46,000 prize money championship.
