Team Rivers, Kano hit para-soccer final
Playing before unprecedented crowd, players of both sides, Team Rivers and Ogun state, entertained the fans, who shifted attention from the matches in volleyball and basketball in nearby courts, to cheer players on skating board.
Earlier, Kano state team outwited Federal Capital Territory (FCT) 3-0 in a scintillating encounter.
The qualification of Kano and Rivers state for the final to be decided today), will rekindle the repeat of KADA Games in 2009 between the two teams.
Coach Ibrahim Musa of the Kano state team said he was sure to still dominate the Rivers state team.
“We beat them during the KADA games in 2009, and we will repeat same feat. We are taking the gold medal,” coach Ibrahim Musa said.
But Team Rivers coach, Tony Chukwu said he had learnt from the mistake that denied his team victory against Kano state nine years back.
President of Para-soccer Federation of Nigeria, Alhaji Musbahu Lawan Didi said efforts are being made to strengthen the league to further take away the physically challenged from the streets.
