Newly elected National Chairman of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rev. Samuel Ikpea, has accused the President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick of being behind the leadership crisis facing the club, warning him to desist from using his position to cause problems in the club.

In a press conference organised by both the new executive and Board of trustees alongside the elders of the club at the national headquarters of the club, he noted that Pinnick encouraged the former acting national chairman, Vincent Okumagba, and some expelled members of the club to organise a parallel election in Abuja on December 10 even when they were aware that an election was going on in Lagos.

Ikpea further noted that the NFF in trying to resolve the crisis, set up a reconciliation committee which appealed to the club to lift the expulsion placed on the erstwhile acting national chairman for anti-party activities and then set up an electoral committee for the club to hold its election on December10 but was surprised that the same NFF encouraged Okumagba to organise another election in Abuja

“We want Nigerians to note that it is Pinnick that is causing our problem by encouraging some dissidents led by Okumagba to organise an illegal election in Abuja even when he was aware that we organised our election in Lagos which was monitored by eminent Nigerians including former Director General of Nigeria Sports Commission. Dr.Amos Adamu, Former scribes of the football house, Taiwo Ogunjobi and Bolaji Ojo-Oba, former NFF President, Aminu Maigairi and others.

“If Pinnick does not want to support the club like previous NFF Presidents, he should steer clear of the club and not involve in clandestine activities to destroy what we have laboured over the years to build,” he stated.

President of the Elders Forum, Elder Isaac Ukpebor, noted that Okumagba had never been the national chairman of the club and will never be because of his antecedents, stressing that he cannot be trusted.
