StarTimes to broadcast Rwanda 2021 FIBA AfroBasket

Digital television outfit, StarTimes, has revealed that it would broadcast the FIBA AfroBasket Championship, tagged Rwanda 2021, to Nigerians live and exclusive.

The 30th African men’s basketball championship is scheduled to hold from August 24 August to September 5, 2021 in Kigali, Rwanda.

16 national teams divided into four groups will compete to become African champions.

In Group A, host, Rwanda, will face DR Congo, Cape Verde, and 11-time AfroBasket winners Angola. Group B will see reigning champions, Tunisia, compete with the Central African Republic, Egypt and Guinea. In Group C, 2015 champions, Nigeria, are pitted against Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya and Mali, while Group D has Senegal, Cameroun, South Sudan and Uganda.

The Group Phase will hold from August 24 to 29, with the top team from each group automatically advancing to the quarterfinals. The eight teams that finish second and third in the four groups will compete on August 30 and 31 for the remaining four quarterfinals spots.

The third place game and the final will hold on September 5.
