Bizimor Kelvin Sariki and Stephen Tope Akintewe yesterday increased Team Nigeria gold medal haul by triumphing in their weights of the cadet cadre at the on-going African Wrestling Championship in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

In the 45kg weight class, Sariki defeated his opponent, South Africa’s Decan Jantjies 8-2 to clinch the gold, while Akintewe (60kg) dismissed Sierra Leone’s Alex Foday Kallon in a 4-0 pit fall to increase the nation’s gold medals to nine.
 
However, Kenechukwu Nnaemeka missed out from winning the gold after he suffered 6-0 defeat to Egypt’s Fathi Ismail, who proved too strong for him in the 65kg, while Morgan ThankGod was also subdued by Cameroun’s Christian Guidilim in the 71kg category.
 
Team Nigeria also got two additional bronze medals from Peremobowei Ebinueower in a 10-0 win over Burundi’s Raoul Brilliant Nganji in the 51kg weight category, while Iwenji Isaac humbled Morocco’s Ali El Quardi in the 92kg.
