Jadon Sancho delayed Borussia Dortmund’s flight to London for today’s huge Champions League clash with Tottenham after forgetting his passport.

The England winger, who has been in sensational form for the Bundesliga leaders this season, was pictured arriving at Dortmund Airport late yesterday morning after being forced to return home to pick up his travel documents.

Sancho was not the only player to forget his passport, with defender Abdou Diallo also turning up without his.

However, the former Manchester City starlet held up the plane after returning to the airport later than his team-mate.

Video shows the 18-year-old being ushered through a gate by a member of security on his return to the airport at 11.13am – over 30 minutes later than Diallo.

The entire Dortmund squad had arrived together shortly after 10am, with Sancho’s tardiness resulting in them taking off 20 minutes later than scheduled.

Sancho, who was born in south London and left City to join Dortmund for £8million in the summer of 2017, is looking forward to playing back at Wembley.

‘I’ll be playing in front of my family, which is something I’ve wanted to do since I was a young boy,’ Sancho told Sportsmail.

‘I’d love to play in front of my home town. Hopefully I can show London people what I’m about.’

Roman Burki, Omer Toprak, Thomas Delaney and Raphael Guerreiro were also pictured shortly before the flight to the capital, which will take under an hour-and-a-half.

Dortmund boss Lucien Favre will be without four key players for the first leg of the last-16 tie, with Marco Reus (thigh) and Paco Alcacer (shoulder) both missing.

Julian Weigl (flu) and Lukasz Piszczek (foot) have also been ruled out of the game at Wembley, boosting Mauricio Pochettino’s hopes of earning a crucial advantage.

‘These are players we will really miss,’ admitted Dortmund chief Michael Zorc.
