Robben out for six weeks with new injury
Arjen Robben looks set to miss the start of the new season after the Bayern Munich star suffered another injury ruling him out for six weeks with a groin problem.
The 32-year-old Dutch forward, who had not played since mid-March because of a previous groin injury, hurt his right groin in Saturday’s friendly away victory over Lippstadt.
“The injury to the player’s right leg was diagnosed after an examination conducted by the club’s medical unit in Munich on Sunday. Robben will be sidelined for approximately six weeks,” Bayern said on its website.
Bayern begin the defence of their Bundesliga title on August 26 against Werder Bremen at home.
