Remita Corporate Champions Cup kicks off on Saturday

Organisers of the Remita Corporate Champions Cup, popularly known as RC3, would commence on Saturday with winners and runners up of various sector-based competitions across the banking, telecoms, insurance, and FMCG sectors, battling for the crown.

The knock-out based tournament will hold at the Sports Pavilion of Yaba College of Technology for a period of three weeks, the organisers, MediaVision Limited revealed during the unveiling of the competition, which was attended by representatives of participating teams.

Now in its third edition, the competition sponsored since inception by SystemSpecs, owners of Remita, the electronic payment platform, the 2017 edition of RC3 will feature eight top brands, including First Bank, UBA, VConnect, IHS, 9Mobile, Leadway Assurance, FrieslandCampina, and Nestle.

Speaking on expectations from the competition, former Super Eagles goalkeeper and tournament ambassador, Peter Rufai, noted, “With all that is on ground, the 2017 edition of RC3 would be more exciting than all others in the past.

“Nigerians across the length and breadth of this nation should expect nothing short of football at its best from all participating corporate teams,” he said.

Also speaking on the competition, Managing Director of SystemSpecs, John Obaro said, “SystemSpecs is pleased to be associated with this competition, which encourages professionals in the corporate world to maintain the all-important balance between work and life.

“This is particularly because, as an organisation, we know it is vital to the continued progress of our country.”

Chief Operating Officer of MediaVision Limited, Jimmy Sogbesan promised that the 2017 edition of the competition will provide a competitive, but friendly platform for “professionals, their families and brands across various sectors of the economy to bond.”
