Police Investigate Killing Of Nigeria’s Tennis Star, Mc-Cleod

The-late-McCleodThe Lagos State Police command has began investigation on how one of Nigeria’s celebrated tennis stars, Beauty McLeod, was allegedly killed by a policeman at Victoria Island, Lagos.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE)- based tennis star was reportedly killed last week by a trigger-happy policeman after an altercation between them along Balarabe Musa Street, Victoria Island.

Mc-Cleod who had lodged in a hotel in the area with her daughter, was said to have engaged in a heated argument with the policeman before the incident happened.

A source said that the deceased, who was shot on the leg by the policeman, was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was rejected. Mc-Cleod later died at Saint Nicholas Hospital, where she was finally admitted.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Joe Offor, stated that the policeman had been detained while investigation has commenced on the matter. Offor noted that the policeman is attached to Mountain Troop Police.

“The policeman shot a woman and she died. The policeman has been detained at Moroko Police Station,” he said.

On what transpired between the policeman and Mc-Cleod, Offor said: “We only have the policeman’s version, but the woman is dead. We can’t get to hear her side of the story. But investigations are ongoing and we have started talking to eyewitnesses.

“The story we have, however, is that the policeman and the woman live in the same compound in Victoria Island. They had been having issues. The policeman told us they had another quarrel and that the woman attempted to disposses him of his gun. During the struggle, the gun exploded. The woman was hit. She later died.”

Nigerian hospitals should be banned from refusing critically sick patients. It is tantamont to homicide. A victim shot in the leg was rejected by a hospital and she later died , probably from excessive loss of blood .
This is criminal and should be put a stop to. The hospital should lose their license and shut down. The doctors swear an oat not to do any harm. What will you call this ?.The senate should work out a method of compensating these doctors if money is the issue. But this must stop.

This country is a waste of geographical space, must we open our eyes and keep shut until the police mistakenly kill the president?

If this lady was not popular they would have tagged her an armed robber and can you hear the wonderful story, she tried to dispose the gun from the police and in the process the gun exploded, story to the gods. Nigeria is too disgusting.
