Olisa Agbakoba, SOOB/NICCOM LLP draw first blood as decisive legs hold on Sunday

Olisa Agbakoba Legal and SOOB/NICCOM LLP are tipped to scale their quarterfinal challenges following their impressive performance in the first leg of their respective encounters last weekend.

The BOA Lawyers League is at the business end of the competition with 16 teams left to vie for the coveted trophy after scaling the group stage of the competition.

The quarterfinals began last week with the first legs, where Olisa Agbakoba Legal defeated Aluko & Oyebode 4-0 to put one leg in the semifinals. Two goals each from the boots of Dare Owolabi and Tunde Ogabi gave Olisa Agbakoba a commanding lead in the tie and only a performance of miraculous proportion can see Aluko & Oyebode changing the course of victory. The match will be the second game of the day at the Astroturf2000 on Sunday.

Before then, BA Law/Probitas Partners LLP will try to outscore Lagos State Justice Ministry in the opening match of the day. The teams drew 1-1 in the first leg with Tola Ogunleye and Lekan Dairo getting the goals for their respective teams.

The third match of the day will DOA Law/Greychapel up in arms against former champions, Falana & Falana, while the match between Templars and Aelex will follow immediately after. DOA Law/Greychapel held Falana & Falana to a goalless draw in the first leg, while Aelex held Templars to a 1-1 draw.

Punuka Attorney will meet Advocaat in the decisive leg of the tie following a goalless outing in the first leg, while George Etomi/FRA Williams face a herculean task when they try to reverse the 3-1 deficit they copped in the first leg of their tie with SOOB/NICCOM LLP.

Banwo & Ighalo lost 0-1 to UUBO/ACAS Law, which means they must score at least two goals without conceding to progress, while victory for either ALP/SPA Ajibade or Pinheiro LP in their tie will take the winner to the semifinals. The first leg of the game ended 1-1.

The BOA Lawyers League is held annually in memory of the late notable lawyer, Mr. Bankole Olumide Aluko, a founding partner in the law firm of Aluko & Oyebode, who passed on 18 years ago.
