Rivers United forward, Emeka Ogbugh, finally returned to scoring ways after making his first start since his comeback from illness with a spectacular strike in Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Wikki Tourists on match day 31.

Ogbugh came from the bench in previous matches against MFM, ABS and Sunshine Stars respectively.

Speaking on the importance of his goal and the match day victory to the squad, Ogbugh said: “It was a match we wanted to win to restore confidence after losing at home to Sunshine Stars.

“My goal will remain fresh to me as it was my first start since returning from injury. I came from the bench against MFM, ABS and Sunshine Stars. However, I needed to make immediate impact and got it in a spectacular manner.

“Moreover, we had to win for the fans,” he stated.
Ogbugh was on duty throughout the duration of the match.
