Both teams came out with results that sets things up nicely for when they meet in their next fixture. MFMFC were held to a stalemate by the gritty and impressive Enyimba at the Agege Stadium while Hamza Tiya’s equalizer for Kano Pillars limited the Jos-based side to one point after they had gone ahead through Ibeh Johnson’s goal.

Matchday 33 delivered quality, entertaining football across all centres, Abia Warriors ran out 4-2 winners in an exhilarating game against hosts Lobi Stars at Markurdi. Kingsley Eduwo’s brace sandwiched all four of Abia Warriors goals including star forward Sunday Adetunji’s brace.

Fatai Amoo’s Shooting Stars also rallied from behind to a 2-1 victory against Gombe United. Captain Seun Akinyemi brought the Oluyole warriors back in contention from the spot before Nojeem Olukokun scored the winner to lift his side out of the drop zone.

Remo Stars, rooted to the bottom spot since matchday 18, had the ignominy of being the only side with a streak of three straight losses after their defeat to ABS FC. Goals from Samuel Oyedeji and Wasiu Alalade handed the Stars their 18th loss of the season.

It was FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s third game without loss. The Nnewi side continued their push for a continental spot with a victory over Nasarawa United. Pascal Seka’s 18th minute strike ensured the Anambra warriors are a point adrift of Akwa United in the third continental spot.

Akwa United fell to Ajibola Otegbeye’s spot kick for Sunshine Stars in the 16th minute. Abdu Maikaba’s men couldn’t get an equalizer despite having a number of gilt-edged chances.

Niger Tornadoes took till the 77th minute to score the lone goal in their match against El Kanemi. Bolaji Adeyemo buried the chance offered him to be the hero in El Kanemi’s solid defensive display.

Chinedu Onyelonu’s deflected strike in the first half restored parity to the game involving Wikki Tourists and Enugu Rangers. The defending champions, Rangers had sprung in the lead through Bright Silas effort in the 15th minute.

The last fixture of the matchday takes place today between Rivers United and Katsina United.
