Unveiling the committees in Lagos on Thursday, NOC President, Habu Gumel, said creating the bodies was in line with the provisions of the International Olympic Charter and the NOC Statutes.

“These subsidiary governing bodies are not only advisory but equally essential in the promotion of Olympic values and the effective implementation of Olympic Movement objectives,” Gumel said.

“This NOC administration has adopted a broad base approach in the appointment of ad hoc committees and commissions, in line with our vision of expanding the scope of our operations to cover vital departments of Olympism.”
