The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has invited 16 players to its men’s senior camp in Lagos ahead of the African Cricket Association (ACA) tournament scheduled to hold from March 20 to 28.

Among the players are Dotun Olatunji, Joshua Ayannaike, Ovais Yusuf, Pradeep Chaudhary, Tunde Ayinde, Pankaj Kumar, Mustapha Yusuf, Sesan Adedeji, Daniel Ajekun, Chimezie Onwuzulike, and Daniel Gim.

The NCF said in a statement that Mr. Oboh Omoigui would temporarily be in charge of the team pending the reconstitution of a new technical crew. The first and second trial matches were held on January 7, 2020, while the third and fourth exhibition games held on Wednesday.

It added that the final list of players for the competition would be done today pending the approval of the board, while the list will be submitted to the ACA on January 15, 2020.

“The Technical Director of NCF will coordinate the trials in the absence of Mr. Omoigui, who will be in charge of the team on an acting capacity. The chief selector and other members of the selector’s committee will be present to select the team.

“The U19 boys will be selected based on their performances in the warm-up to ICC World Cup,” it added.
