Minister inaugurates 2016 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations LOC
Minister of Youth and Sport, Solomon Dalung, at the weekend, formally inaugurated the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the 2016 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations.
Speaking at the event held at the indoor hall of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, the Minister praised the Beach Soccer Federation for bringing glory to the nation in the past and for establishing the country as a leading African Beach Soccer nation.
The minister, who acknowledged that the inauguration of the committee was long been over due, was, however, happy that the caliber of members seems to have justified the catch phrase that what is worth doing at all is worth doing well and that it is not how soon but how well that matters.
The minister urged the new committee members to work as a team to improve the game and embrace openness and accountability in their undertakings.
Responding, the Chairman of the LOC, Seyi Akinwumi, promised to take the game to a new height by not only sustaining its leading position in the continent but also in winning the World Cup in the event.
Other members of the LOC are Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, Vice-Chairman, Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu, Mr. Athanasius Okon, Mr. Adeyinka Adeboye and Mr. Bolaji Yusuf.
Others are Mrs. Margaret Jcheen, Mr. Salisu Nakande, Mr. Samson Adamu, Mr. Sunny Moniedafe, Mr. Nansel Nimyel, Mr. Bola Oyeyode and Mr. Anthony Kojo Williams.
