Look beyond Brazil loss, Glo tell Flying Eagles
National telecoms operator, Globacom, has enjoined the Flying Eagles to look beyond the result of their first match against Brazil which ended 4-2 in favour of the Brazilians in the on-going 2015 FIFA U-2O World cup in New Zealand.
The Flying Eagles levelled up in the ninth minute after Brazil took the lead in the fifth minute and increased the tally through Musa Yahaya in the 30th minute, while the Brazilians equalised few minutes before the end of the first half.
The Flying Eagles, however, conceded two more goals in the second half due to goalkeeping error and loss of concentration.
Globacom in a statement in Lagos yesterday said “the Flying Eagles should be consoled by the fact that there is still hope, and they can redeem themselves by going for victory when they face North Korea on Thursday.
“We are aware of the threat posed by the North Koreans, but we equally have strong faith in you to pick the three points at stake,” the statement added.
The Company advised the Manu Garba- led technical crew to marshal a new plan towards defeating the Koreans to keep the Flying Eagles in contention for qualification for the next round in group E.
“This is the best opportunity for the Flying Eagles to return to reckoning in Group E and we encourage the team to work hard and secure victory against Notth Korea,” Glo submitted.
Hungary and Brazil jointly lead Group E table while Nigeria and Korea occupy the bottom position without any point so far.
Nigeria will face North Korea while Brazil will lock horns with Hungary in the second Group E matches tomorrow.
Globacom is the official telecommunications partner of the Nigerian Football Federation and the major sponsor of the Nigerian national teams.
