Mike Idoko frowned at the members of technical crew and players over the unimpressive performance displayed during the week 33 NPFL match against Abia Warriors at the Aper Aku Stadium Makurdi where they lost 2-4 to the visiting team.

The Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi, Mike Idoko on Monday attributed the abysmal performance of the team in recent matches to the absence of some of the key players, who either travelled abroad or were invited for national assignment for the poor performance of the team in recent times.

Idoko frowned at the members of technical crew and players over the unimpressive performance displayed during the week 33 NPFL match against Abia Warriors at the Aper Aku Stadium Makurdi where they lost 2-4 to the visiting team.

While briefing journalists at the end of his meeting with members of technical crew and players of the club, Idoko said he wanted to ascertain what actually went wrong during their week 33 match, but that after the meeting, the unfortunate result was attributed to the absence of some of the key players in the game.

He disclosed that the coaches and players have resolved to strategize to improve on their performance in the remaining matches.

“I want to use this medium to thank teeming fans of the club for their wonderful support at all times. I promised that We will go back to the drawing board and quickly make amends for overall interest of the state.”

The vice chairman however, condemned the attitude of some persons who, he said have choose to engage in nefarious activities for the purpose of sabotaging the team and urged them to desist from such acts of subversiveness capable of thwarting the future of the club.
