Leopards sneak into Warri for Wolves
Warri Wolves’ opponent in this weekend’s CAF Confederations Cup match, AC Leopards of Congo Brazzaville, will arrive Nigeria today in a chartered flight, which will land in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.
Wolves, Nigeria’s only surviving club in this year’s CAF assignment, have an uphill task on Saturday, as they attempt to upturn a 3-0 deficit against the Congolese.
An official of Warri Wolves said yesterday the Congolese did not reveal much about their travelling arrangement, adding that the number of people coming for the game could not be ascertained. Media Officer of Warri Wolves, Moses Etu, said that Wolves had made arrangement to convey them from Port Harcourt to Warri by road as soon as they land in the Garden City.
“They have informed us that they will be coming in on Thursday (today) via Port Harcourt, but we don’t know the number of people coming. We have made available vehicles to convey them to Warri as soon as they land in Port Harcourt.”
Meanwhile, the Management of the Warri Wolves says it will throw the gate open for fans wearing the blue T-shirt to the Stadium on Saturday.
According to Etu, the Club wants to make the atmosphere quite different from what they have been used to, adding that they have decided that blue shirt will serve as match ticket.
“We are trying to change the orientation of the fans and for this match, if you come with your blue shirt, you will be allowed to watch the match free. We are appealing to our fans to get a blue T-shirt and cheer the boys as they are ready to do the country proud,” he said.
