Anthony Joshua has said that Wladimir Klitschko is the hardest puncher he’s ever faced inside the boxing ring.

Joshua fought Klitschko in April 2017 and won the bout by TKO in the 11th round. But the Brit had his work cut out that night and was floored for the first time in his professional career by the Ukrainian.

Some fans may have expected the Watford-born fighter to say Andy Ruiz Jr was the hardest hitter he’d faced after the Mexican’s shock victory over Joshua last summer.

“Who’s hit me the hardest? Yeah, Klitschko,’ he said during a JD Sports Instagram live.

“When I went in with Klitschko, yeah, I just knew this could go two ways.

“I could either win or I’m gonna be laid out on my back. You know when you get carried out on a stretcher?’

He added: “It was the 15 that came after that as well. This guy’s a beast, he’s a beast.’

“I was gonna say Ruiz, but when he hit me that was like a concussion on the back of my head.’

Ruiz Jr knocked AJ to the canvas several times before ending his unbeaten professional record with one of the biggest shocks in boxing history in New York.
