Kenya names squad for Women’s Nations Cup, storms Cameroun today

Harambee Starlets’ coach, David Ouma has named a squad comprising 21 players for the upcoming African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) assignment in Cameroun.

The team is set to leave the country today for Cameroun ahead of the tournament that is set to kick off on November 19.

Former skipper Neddy Atieno who has since joined the military has been left out together with Mwahalima Dogo, who is sitting for her final exams. The country is set for a tough pool ‘B’ together with defending champions Nigeria, Ghana and Mali.

The tournament will hold between November 19 and December 3, 2016 in the Cameroonian cities of Yaoundé and Limbe, and Starlets have been sharpening their attack through the COTIF tournament, Cecafa Women Championships and two friendlies against Cameroon and Egypt.
