The Chief Coach of Kano Pillars, Ibrahim Musa, has promised to win his first match of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), which commences tomorrow in a home game fixture against Rivers United their conqueror at the Ahlan Cup pre-season in Kano.

The Masu Gida of Kano will be hoping to avenge their 0-1 loss to The Predators of Rivers State during the quarter-finals of the Ahlan Cup pre-season tournament in tomorrow’s fixture of the Match Day One of the NPFL scheduled for the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

Speaking to The Guardian yesterday, Musa, who said his players have put behind them their ouster from both the Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup, stated that they now looked forward to beating their opponent in tomorrow’s encounter.

“I know our match against the Rivers United will be tough and it will be crucial for us. But we hope to win our first match at home in tomorrow’s match.

“You know when we played against them at the Ahlan Cup, Rivers United defeated us 1-0 during the quarter-finals of the pre-season tournament here in Kano State,” he said, adding that tomorrow’s duel with Rivers United would be a different match all together.

“This term around they will see a different Kano Pillars by the grace of God. It will not be the team Rivers beat at the Ahlan Cup pre-season tournament.

“Our first game of the NPFL is very important to us and I am assuring the fans to come en masse to the Sani Abacha Stadium and support the team achieve victory over Rivers United come this Sunday,” he stated.
