Public and private schools in Kaduna State are set to participate in the maiden Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) 2018 Secondary Schools Indoor Championship aimed at discovering talented athletes for the State.

Speaking on the championship yesterday, Chairman of the Organising Committee, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson and Secretary, Abdulwaheed Adubi said the participants would come from over 50 schools from across the state, adding that the event is a two-day competition that will hold on October 26 and 27 at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

Dickson said, “We are pleased to inform the general public that all is set for the Kaduna Schools Indoor Sports Competition. The venue is secured and the schools have called to assure their participation and support.”

He explained that the competition, which was earlier billed for September, was rescheduled because more schools indicated interest in participating in it.

“Meanwhile, we urge schools to furnish details of those who would be representing them to our Secretariat, latest by noon on Thursday October 25. This will aid our final planning,” he added.
