AS the FIFA’s U-17 World Cup comes to an end today, with a clash between the defending champions, the Golden Eaglets and Africa’s champions, Mali, in tonight’s epic final in Vina del Mar, Chile, ex-Flying Eagles star, Tajudeen Disu, has predicted a tough match between the two African sides.

Speaking with The Guardian on the titanic battle, Disu said he never prayed for the Eaglets to meet Mali in the final of the youth championship.

According to him, “I did not want Eaglets to meet the Malians in the final of the championship in the first place. I was praying they meet the Belgians. I am not saying we are not going to win the match, but it is going be very tasking, definitely, it is not going to be a walkover for us.

We played the Malians at the African Youth Championship where they beat us. But this time around, I expect our boys to approach the final as if their lives depend on it.”

The former Eagles defence strongman, however, said that he believes that the boys will make the nation proud. “One thing I like about these boys is that they take their chances each time they have the opportunity to score. But I think Amuneke needs to work on the defence of the team. Once that is done, then the cup will be ours. I pray we win, because I want us to win, but it is not going to be a walkover. I wish them the best of luck.”
