Super Eagles’ Striker, Odion Ighalo scored his 11th goal in the Chinese Super League at the weekend to cement his place as one of the best goal scorers in the nascent championship.

Ighalo, who joined Chinese Super League side, Changchun Yatai from Watford in the English Premier League, scored his side’s lone goal in their 1-1 draw at home with Yabian Funde on Sunday.

A main stable at his club’s Development Area Stadium, Ighalo has been one of Super Eagles’ most consistent players since moving to the senior team.

The Ajegunle-born star has become one of the first choice players in the club, which is fighting to qualify for one of the Asian club championships next season.

Last week, the DubaiAfrika ambassador netted the two goals that gave Changchun Yatai a 2-0 away victory over Henan Jianye.

Ighalo’s current rich vein of form has prompted many to pick him as Super Eagles’ arrowhead in next month’s games against Cameroun in Uyo and Yaounde.

The former Watford star has been so good in the Chinese League that Changchun Yatai picked him as their captain for the current campaign. He is Nigeria’s highest paid sportsman, with his £200,000 ($12.5 million every year) $1.5 million more than Golden State Warriors shooting guard, Andre Iguodala, who gets $11.1 million a year.
