Governor Obaseki assures clubs of successful Super Four In Benin City

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has assured that all necessary logistics have been deployed to make the Nigerian Women Premier League (NWPL) Super Four championship a success.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has assured that all necessary logistics have been deployed to make the Nigerian Women Premier League (NWPL) Super Four championship a success.

Benin City, the Edo State capital, will be bubbling with women football from September 11 to 16 when the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium hosts the first ever Super Four Women’s Championship in the country.

Obaseki has already set up a four-man committee to make the tourney one that would show the world that Edo State is the home of sports in Nigeria.

The teams coming for the 2017 NWPL Super Four championship are Bayelsa Queens, Delta Queens, Nasarawa Amazons and title holders, Rivers Angels.

Speaking on the tournament, the Chairman of the Women’s League in Nigeria, Aisha Falode, said she has been so excited with the support of the Edo State governor, and promising that in future if given any challenge by the Edo government, she will always deliver.

“I must also thank the media for the tremendous support… we may not be able to reward them adequately but professionalism has been my calling and I think, that is what they are sticking to,” she said.
