GOtv Boxing Night holds today

The 18th edition of GOtv Boxing Night will hold today at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan. The event is being held in the city for the third time.

The 18th edition of GOtv Boxing Night will hold today at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan. The event is being held in the city for the third time.

Eight fights are slated for the event, with Nigeria’s Oto ‘Joe Boy’ Joseph defending his African Boxing Union lightweight title against Ghana’s Success ‘Brave Warrior’ Tetteh, while national super featherweight title duel is between reigning champion, Taofeek ‘Taozon’ Bisuga and challenger, Ridwan ‘Scorpion’ Oyekola, as Akeem ‘Dodo’ Sadiku, will battle Republic of Benin’s Ekpresso Djamihou in an international light middleweight clash.

Other bouts are a West African Boxing Union welterweight championship clash between Rilwan ‘Baby Face’ Babatunde, and Ganiyu ‘Energy’ Kolawole; Opeyemi ‘Sense’ Adeyemi and Sadiq ‘Happy Boy’ Adeleke in a bantamweight fight; Taiwo ‘Esepo’ Agbaje and Michael ‘Holy Mike’ Jacob in lightweight clash; while Morufu ‘Oloke’ Owolabi will do battle with Jamiyu ‘Sunshine’ Akande and debutant, Isaac ‘I Star’ Chukwudi against Jubril ‘Terrible’ Olalekan.

The best boxer will go home with a cash prize of N1million.
