Nigeria picks up more gold medals at Commonwealth Games

Team Nigeria added two Gold medals as wrestling sensation Odunayo Adekuoroye and African champion Blessing Oborodudu wresled their way to the top of their respective categories.

Adekuoroye defeated India’s Pooja Dhanda 7-5 in the Women’s Freestyle 57kg event to win Gold and therefore, retain her Commonwealth title.

Blessing Oborodudu fought back from a 3-0 deficit to claim a 4-3 win over Canadian, Danielle Lappage in the women’s Freestyle 68kg category.

Amas Daniel defeated Vincent De Marinis in the men’s freestyle 65kg event to win a bronze medal.

However, Soso Tamarau couldn’t overpower Cyprus’ Alexios Kaouslidis in the bronze medal match in the Men’s Freestyle 97kg event. Tamarau lost 2-1.
