The FROT Group at the weekend promised to continue investing in Edo State sports development, just as it pledged to continue bankrolling the annual Principals Cup, which involves all the schools in the state.

Apart from the Principal’s Cup, the FROT Group also sponsors the South-South Champion of Champions, a competition that involves all the Federation Cup qualifiers from the geopolitical zone and the Edo State FA Cup, among others.

Speaking at the weekend during the Edo FA Awards, where he bagged the award of Outstanding Football Personality of the Year, FROT Group Chairman, Frank Momoh, affirmed that his company would continue to partner with the Edo FA in its quest to take the state back to the summit of Nigerian football.

He said, “Edo State used to be the hub of football in Nigeria. This is a state that produced more than half of the players that won Nigeria’s first FIFA trophy when a team led by Coach Sebastian Broderick’s won the inaugural FIA U-16 World Cup in China.

“Edo have produced top quality footballers for this country and our mission is to ensure that returns to the summit of Nigerian football.”

At the event attended by stakeholders in the country’s football, among who are Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board members, retired footballers, journalists and veteran coaches, including the legendary Alabi Aisien, FROT Group was also named as the Corporate Sponsor of the Year.
