Toriola heads ATTF Athletes’ Committee
ONE of the Africa’s most decorated players, Segun Toriola, has been named as the chairman of the newly constituted Africa Table Tennis Federation (ATTF) Athletes Committee.
In a statement issued yesterday by the President, African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF), Khaled El-Salhy, the committee is made up of players from the seven zones across Africa including the continental
representative in the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Athletes Committee, Egypt’s El-Sayed Lashin, who will serve as ex-officio in the committee.
The new committee takes effect from January 2015, while their tenure will expire in 2016, when an election into the committee will hold at the next ATTF Congress in Morocco in 2016.
“I have the pleasure to inform you that ATTF has decided to compose a new African Athletes Committee starting of January 2015 by nomination for the coming two years, then by the end of 2016 and in the next African Congress Meeting to be held in Morocco we will have elections among all delegates for the whole ATTF Council Board for four years and elections among all participating players for ATTF Athletes Committee for four years
Toriola emerged from Zone three while other members of the newly constituted ATTF Athletes Committee include Moh. Sofiene Boudjadja (Algeria) of Zone One, Mohamed Gueye (Senegal) of Zone two, Sarrah Hannfou (Cameroun) of Zone four, Osama Mohamed (Sudan) of Zone five,
Danisha Patel (South Africa) of Zone six, Widaad Gukhool (Mauritius) of Zone seven, while El-Sayed Lashin (Egypt) is ex-official member as ITTF Athletes Committee member.
