FORMER Super Eagles midfielder, Austin Okocha and Davidson Owumi have confirmed their readiness for the much talked about clash between ex- internationals in Edo/Delta and the rest of the country, for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

The gathering of ex-internationals on February 1 at the Warri Township Stadium is aimed in drumming support for Okowa.

A local organising committee (LOC) has been formed with Chief Tony Okowa as Chairman. Other members of the Committee are Stephen Cole (Director of Organisation), Friday Onotoja (Secretary), Victor Onogagamue (Adviser), Owumi (in charge of Contact) and Etu Moses (Publicity).

A member of the organizing committee told The Guardian yesterday that the likes of Peter Rufai, Taribo West, Dan Amokachi, Mobil Okparaku, Ifeanyi Udeze and Uche Okechukwu have confirmed their readiness for the match.

Also, the likes of Garba Lawal, Emmanuel Amuneke, Austin Okocha, Kingsley Obiekwu, Emeka Ezeugo, Alloy Agwu, Duke Udi, Kenneth Aigbe, Sam Sodje, Friday Christopher, Monday Aigbe, Victor Ikpeba, Peter Nieketen, Nduka Ugbade, Tosan Blackson, Wahab Haruna, Muobosa Bordericks, Sam Okpodu, Humphrey Jebba, Edema Fuludu, Lucky Sunday, Cole Joseph and Tijani Babangida have indicated their readiness to be on ground for the game.

The LOC noted yesterday that Senator Okowa is a ‘complete sports loving personality’ and there was need for the ex-internationals to join in the campaign to make him governor in the fast approaching general election.
