Captain of First Bank Basketball Club of Lagos, Chioma Udeaja, is sure her team will win the on-going Zenith Bank Women Basketball League, which currently holding in Asaba, Delta State.

The ‘Elephant Girls,’ who are aiming to qualify for the final eight of the league, defeated Coal City Queens of Enugu 94 to 26 at the weekend.

Speaking after team’s victory over the Enugu girls, Udeaja said the team has all it takes to excel in the league.

“First Bank’s ambition is to win the title this year. We are doing everything possible to avert last year’s defeat to Dolphins in the final . This is why we get to the venue of the league early to get used to the environment before every game.”

Udeaja, who admitted that other teams in the league have improved, said she is excited that First Bank has been winning all its games since the league began in Abuja.

“I have seen the improvement on other teams too, but we have been in top form and winning our games since the second phase stated, just like we did in Abuja, has raised our spirit. ”
