First Bank Plc has been drawn against Unilever in the opening week of the 2018 Remita Corporate Champions Cup (RC3), which kicks off on Sunday with four matches at the Sports Pavilion of Yaba College of Technology (YabaTech).

The competition brings together eight winners and runners-up of various industry games, including Banking, FMCG, Insurance and Telecommunications Games. The teams are Friesland Campina, Unilever, FCMB, 9Mobile, First Bank, Leadway Assurance, last year’s winner HIS, and wildcard Credit Direct.

Apart from the First Bank versus Unilever game, FrieslandCampina will also face 9Mobile, Leadway Assurance will meet Credit Direct, while IHS Towers will trade tackles with FCMB.

Speaking while unveiling the 2018 edition of the competition yesterday at the head office of the sponsors, leading Nigerian Fintech firm and owners of Remita, SystemSpecs in Lagos, Managing Director of SystemSpecs, John Obaro extolled the benefits of the RC3, which, he said, is aimed at creating a work-life balance for employees of corporate organizations.

“With RC3, Nigerian corporates are mixing business with leisure. It is that one time when professionals, their friends and family take work matters off their minds.

“We hope to engender greater collaborations across Corporate Nigeria and by that very token achieve more successes that would engender greater innovations for the overall advancement of our beloved country,” Obaro said.

In attendance at the event were former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, who is a brand ambassador of RC3, as well as representatives from the participating organizations and the organizing partner, Mediavision.
