Super Eagles former forward, Femi Opabunmi may soon have reasons to smile as an Ibadan-based outfit, soccertalkcash.com has revealed plan to make him their ambassador for the Russia 2018 World Cuyp.

Opabunmi became the third youngest player to feature in FIFA World Cup when he played for Nigeria at the Korea 2002 edition of the competition.

Opabunmi lost one of his eyes through a mysterious eyes ailment, which also cut short his football career in 2006. Since then, he has been surviving through then grace of family and friends going.

The former 3SC star, who has just one eye working at 60 per cent, while the other is completely blind, says he is confident of seeing with both eyes again if he received enough financial help.

Speaking on the plans for the former left winger, the CEO of the online firm, Soccertalkcash, Mr. Omoyele Omonira described Opabunmi as a perfect choice for the brand the firm designed for Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup due to his pedigree as a player that rose from FIFA age grade competitions to play at World Cup.

“If our government doesn’t show any sense of responsibility to its past heroes, we must celebrate our own. Somebody that did the country proud on a global stage should not be abandoned like that.

“The gesture is also part of our corporate social responsibility.

We have been in contact with him, and soon after all the modalities are concluded, we will unveil him as our ambassador,” Omoyele noted.

He clarified that soocertalkcash.com is not a gambling site, but an online forum designed exclusively for discussing soccer in Nigeria, where participants can earn point and get cash rewards for meaningful contributions.

He added the firm would soon come up with a special package for Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, in which Opabunmi would be brand ambassador.
