FC Bulmaro plans to revolutionise Nigeria’s club football architecture

FC Bulmaro Lagos is barely three years in the Nigerian football scene, but the club, led by Argentine Coach Gonzalo Rubio, are already on top of Nationwide League One Group A1.The team, which plays at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Lagos, has 12 points from four straight wins in a group that also has First Bank FC, Collins Edwards FC, B-Angels FC and Iganmu FC.

Every weekend since the league kicked off, fans throng to the venues to watch FC Bulmaro due to its unique brand of football, as well as the comportment of the players on and off the pitch.Known as the youngest team in the country, the promoters of the come say it has come to change the business of the football in Nigeria. Specifically, the club says it is out to offer the large pool of talents in Nigeria wealth the platform to discover themselves, and maximize the huge opportunities available globally.

FC Bulmaro is the product of the Elite 96 Scholarship Project of the Lagos-based Barca Academy solely sponsored by Blaugrana Group International. The team recently returned from a rigorous overseas training tour, where it represented Nigeria in the 2019 Mediterranean International Cup Competition, a two-week age group tournament held in San Sebastián, Spain.

The team is made up of 17 talented U-19 players being trained in the Barcelona of Spain tradition.According to its coach, Gonzalo Rubio, the players are being prepared not only to be winners, but to also learn to become excellent professionals, who know the value of good leadership and being professional in their activities.

“For all the boys, it is the first time they are being exposed to so many things they are not familiar with in a very different and sophisticated clime. “We strongly believe it would be impossible for the legend or giant in them not to wake up,” Rubio said.

Also speaking on the project, Blaugrana Group International chairman, Leslie Oghomienor said it was exciting and fulfilling to be part of young peoples’ dream and success stories.

“Our guiding philosophy is that we strongly believe in the little we are striving to do in helping others succeed in living their dreams. And I must tell you on behalf of our group that there is nothing this exciting, fulfilling and joyful to see an entire family coming out, basking in the sweet mist of frills and thrills. I can tell you emphatically that there is no amount of pleasure or wealth that can be exchanged for this moment,” he said.

Grateful to be among the chosen few, FC Bulmaro Captain, Sebastian Godwin said the experience is an unbelievable turning point in the lives of the team members. “We are overwhelmed and cannot express or explain the joy in us. As long as we live, we will be forever grateful to Blaugrana Group International, Barca Academy Group Nigeria, the energetic Coach Gonzalo Rubio and our loving Spanish Physical Trainer, Alberto Lafuente.

“We are in fact divinely chosen and blessed to have this kind of very rare opportunity. We will put up our very best, for we are well equipped to perform excellently in this league,” Godwin said.
