Head Coach of the Falconets, Peter Dedevbo, has expressed the players’ readiness to overcome South Africa in the return leg of the U-20 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Nov. 7.

Dedevbo said on Tuesday in Abuja after the team’s morning training session at the National Stadium.

“As you can see we are on the verge of finalising our preparations. We are ready.

“We have intensified our preparations right from the day after our match against South Africa here (in Nigeria). So, we are ready.

“Generally, we are working on every department, the goalkeeping, the defence, the midfield and the attack. So far, we have done a very good job on the team.

“So, if South Africa can come here and score one against us, we can go to South Africa and score two against them.’’

The Falconets had won the first leg encounter 2-1 on Oct. 24 in Abuja.

Nigeria will qualify for the 2016 World Cup scheduled to hold in Papua New Guinea if it wins the Nov. 7 encounter on aggregate points.

The winner of the other encounter between Ethiopia and Ghana on aggregate points is expected to qualify to represent Africa at the World Cup in Papua New Guinea

NAN recalls that Nigeria thrashed Liberia 14-1 on aggregate in the first round and defeated DR Congo 4-1 on aggregate in the second round of the qualifying series.
