Falconets draw China, Germany
The Falconets of Nigeria have been drawn in the Group D of the France 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup alongside Haiti, China and three time U-20 winners Germany.
The draw ceremony was held at the Opera House, Rennes yesterday.
Africa’s other representatives Ghana are with hosts France, New Zealand and Netherlands in Group A.
North Korea will take on England, Mexico and Brazil in Group B while Japan with fight it out with USA, Paraguay and Spain in Group c.
According to the draw, France will play their opening match against Ghana on 5 August.
The draw ceremony was conducted by Sarai Bareman, FIFA’s Chief Women’s Football Officer, Rhiannon Martin, FIFA’s Senior Competitions Manager, former France international Camille Abily, former Manchester United star Mikael Silvestre, Damien Seguin, a sailing gold medallist at the Paralympic Games Athens 2004 and Rio 2016; and 15-year-old Aela Mocaer.
The cities of Vannes, Concarneau, Saint-Malo and Dinan/Léhon will host the competition, which is scheduled for 5 August to 24 Augusust.
