Esperance Join Race For Etebo
Yahaya Closes In On Portugal Switch
ESPERANCE have joined two other Tunisian clubs in the hot chase for Nigeria U-23 star, Oghenekaro Etebo, just as Warri Wolves are believed to have lowered their $2 million asking price for the midfielder.
Etebo has sparked off interests from overseas after he emerged as top scorer at the recent U-23 AFCON in Senegal.
“Esperance are now keen to sign Etebo and this comes at a time when it is believed that Wolves are now demanding less than the $2 million they first asked for the player,” a top source informed.
“After the holidays, we will have a clearer picture of how the bidding war will play out.”
Egyptian double champions Zamalek have also been reported to be interested in signing Etebo.
Meanwhile, Nigeria U-20 star Musa Yahaya, who lost his father last week, is on the verge of signing for a Portuguese club, it has been gathered.
“Musa Yahaya has been in Portugal, he’s just doing a medical after which he will sign for a Portuguese club as he is now 18 years old,” revealed a source close to the exciting winger, who has been compared to Brazil superstar Neymar.
The former U17 international clocked 18 on December 16.
