Enyimba deflate FC Ifeanyi Ubah, MFM record another away draw

Enyimba of Aba yesterday returned to winning ways with a 2-0 defeat of FC IfeanyiUbah in one of the rescheduled games of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).

Enyimba of Aba yesterday returned to winning ways with a 2-0 defeat of FC IfeanyiUbah in one of the rescheduled games of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL). This victory came on a day the surprise team of the season, MFM of Lagos, went to Bauchi to hold Wikki Tourists to a 1-1 draw.

MFM had last week held Enyimba to a 1-1 draw in Aba to maintain their place among the top teams of the league this season.At the U.J Esuene Stadium, Calabar, Enyimba’s adopted home ground, the Peoples Elephant’s dazzling winger opened scores in the 32nd minute to calm the nerves of their supporters, who have watched their team playing three games without a win.

Skipper Mfon Udoh made it two in the 88th minute to seal the win for the Aba boys, who now occupy the eighth position on the log with 18 points.
Yesterday’s 1-1 draw in Bauchi was MFM’s second draw in a week after their heroics against Enyimba in Calabar.

Wikki Tourists took opened scores in the 35th minute through Shammah Tanze to lead the first half 1-0. But MFM, missing the exciting Sikiru Olatunbosun and Stanley Odeh, restored parity in the 61st minute off the boots of Stanley Okorom.The draw keeps MFM, who have a game in hand, in the third position with 21 points.
