Former Flying Eagles coach, John Obuh, has charged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to organise quality friendly matches for the Eagles before the team’s crunch African Nations Cup two-legged qualifier against the Pharaohs of Egypt in March next year.

Obuh also wants Coach Sunday Oliseh to start putting the process in place to raise a quality team that will outshine the Egyptians, who may use every weapon at their disposal to qualify for the Championship.

He declared that for the Eagles to survive the Pharaohs, Oliseh and his assistants should work on the tactical discipline of his players in training at every point in time, noting that it would be a big blow for the Eagles to miss another Nations Cup after losing out from the last edition.

Obuh also called on Nigerians to be patient with the Eagles during the ongoing rebuilding process, which he said would reposition the team in world football.
“The Super Eagles will be facing a big task against Egypt in the Nations Cup qualifier. I think the Eagles’ coaches should use the CHAN preparations as the platform to organise the team ahead of the important game against Egypt.

The NFF also needs to organise quality friendlies to assist the coaches blend the foreign and local based players before the game. The NFF needs to act fast because the Eagles need to beat Egypt to be in Gabon. It will not augur well for Nigerian football if the Super Eagles failed to make it to the 2017 Nations Cup after failing to make the last edition,” he said.
