Defending champions, Falana battle Banwo/Ighodalo as BOA Lawyers League kicks off

Defending champions, Falana & Falana will meet Banwo & Ighodalo in the opening match of the 2020 Bankole Olumide Aluko (BOA) Lawyers League, which kicks off at the AstroTurf1000 today.

20 teams are participating in the tournament, which has seen six teams merging to form their squads.
 
This year’s competition is divided into four groups with eight games played every Sunday over a five-week period.

According to the rules, each match lasts for 20 minutes, including half time & change over time and teams must arrive 30 minutes before their game.

In Group A are OANDO/AXXELA LEGAL, Falana & Falana, BA Law LLP/Probitas Partners LLP, Udo Udoma Belo-Osagie/Ajumogobia & Okeke, and Banwo & Ighodalo.

In Group B are George Etomi/FRA Williams, Pinheiro LP, Africa Law Practice/ Sofunde Osakwe, Ogundipe & Belgore, DOA Law/Bloomfield And Tokunbo Orimobi LP.

Group C has Templars, Lagos State Ministry Of Justice, Punuka Attorney, Aluko & Oyebode and Kenna Partners, while In Group D are Olaniwun Ajayi, Aelex, SPA Ajibade/Niccom LLP, Advocaat, and Oake Legal.

After the opening game of the day, BA Law LLP/Probitas Partners LLP will meet UUBO/Ajumogobia & Okeke in the second match, after which ALP/SOOB will battle with George Etomi/FRA Williams.

Other matches are Pinheiro LP against DOA Law/Bloomfield, LSMJ versus Kenna Partners, Punuka Attorney against Aluko & Oyebode and Aelex versus OAKE Legal.

The BOA Lawyers’ League is held in memory of the late notable lawyer, Mr. Bankole Olumide Aluko, a founding partner in the Law firm of Aluko & Oyebode (A & O), who passed on 18 years ago.

Falana & Falana won the competition last year, with ALP/SPA as runners up, while Advocaat came third.
