The game lived up to its billing as a battle of the underdogs, but not many people at the venue gave the Customs team the chance of winning the encounter.

A thrilling game, which kept the fans on their toes, saw the Customs boys taking the initiative for the final and decisive time in the last minute with a two-pointer to win the match.

Speaking to The Guardian after the game, an excited Customs coach, Scot Nnaji, said hard work and resilience was the secret behind his team’s victory.

“The victory against Gombe Bulls has given us the confidence to win our next game. The boys worked hard for this result. We knew Gombe Bulls was an experienced side, so we ensured we did not drop any drop point in every half of the game,” he said.
Captain of Customs, Mohammed Zanna, who was also delighted over the victory, praised his teammates for the win.
