CORONA Secondary School, Agbara, Ogun State got a total of 34.5 points to win the senior trophy at the 2014/2015 edition of the annual Nigeria Inter Schools Chess League, Play and win chess which ended recently at the Vivian Fowler Memorial Secondary School for Girls, Oregun, Ikeja.

It was a very keen competition among the participating schools as Vivian Fowler Girls College and Bellina College, Horse Betting Odds Akoka, emerged second and third place winners with 34 and 30 points respectively.

According to the Coordinator of CSS’ Chess Club, Mr. Luga Iorver, apart from winning in the senior category, Corona Secondary School also clinched the third place in the junior category, sports betting which was dominated by Bellina College with an outstanding performance that saw the school winning the first and second positions with 35 and 32 points respectively.

Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of the competition, Kunle Fasan, sure virtual betting expressed happiness that the league had thrived over the last decade despite the lack of sponsors.

“We have had to cope through thick and thin over the last 10 years without sponsorship,” he said. Play Chess Bet Games and Win Big! He also expressed confidence that participants who have emerged over time can represent this country both in local and international competitions.

According to Fasan, “There are many advantages attached to chess. It makes a player smarter; think faster and it also helps players in their academic pursuits.”
