Coach Salisu Yusuf and members of his technical crew got down to business yesterday in Kano where the home-based Eagles are preparing for their African Nations Cup (CHAN) Kenya 2018 qualifier against Benin Republic.

Yusuf, who said he was thrilled by the response of the players to their call to duty, revealed that all the invited players had arrived the camp by Monday evening safe for the MFM FC duo of Sikiru Olatunbosun and Stephen Odey, whose team played a rescheduled league game against Katsina United same day.

The team had their first full session yesterday with 25 players. Yusuf has promised that the technical crew would work hard to build a team that would beat Benin Republic when they meet on August 13 and August 19 in Cotonou and Kano respectively.

“We had a great (first training session) and we really appreciate the patriotism which the players have shown. “The other players not here yet took permission. They have shown a lot of commitment and we are really happy about that. We started our training today and it is just to bring the body back because of the long journey and the matches they played in the last 48 hours.”

He said the team was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new goalkeeper coach appointed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to assist Aloy Agu, who was still being expected as at yesterday.
